Mind over Matter
Peter Russell states that ‘mind’ is more fundamental than ‘matter’. He explores the problem that science has with explaining consciousness, and argues that consciousness is not created by the brain but that it is an inherent quality of all living things.

Peter Russell is a fellow of the Institute of Noetic Sciences, of The World Business Academy and of The Findhorn Foundation, and an Honorary Member of The Club of Budapest.
At Cambridge University (UK) he studied mathematics and theoretical physics. As he became increasingly fascinated by the mysteries of the human mind, he switched to experimental psychology. Pursuing this interest, he traveled to India to study meditation and Eastern philosophy, and on his return he took up the first research post ever offered in Britain on the psychology of meditation. In the seventies, he was one of the first to introduce seminars on human potential into business, and for twenty years he led higher management programs in the areas of creativity, stress management, personal development and sustainable development.
